We recognise the importance of being able to get your conference information back out of TrackChair, which is why we provide a full export capability. This is useful for archival, for advanced searching and report generation, and even for creating the conference program. A spreadsheet is often the best tool for these jobs, which is why TrackChair offers data download in Excel-compatible format.
Working With Many Papers
When you have to handle many papers, TrackChair's paper set feature is extremely useful. A paper set is like a shopping basket for gathering papers. Once gathered, actions can be applied to all papers in the set: for example, assigning a reviewer, accepting the papers, or downloading a spreadsheet of paper information. Simply find the papers of interest, either individually or many at a time, and add them to your set with a single click.
Creating a paper set and downloading the spreadsheet is easy. Click on the screenshot to view a video demonstration, and read the description below for further details.
For this scenario, the conference is in the middle of reviewing. We want to find papers which already have high scores, say over 3.5 for the Recommendation question. Then, we want to look at these papers in more detail in Excel, so we download a spreadsheet copy of the data.
The process begins on the conference dashboard page, which is your starting point for managing the conference. The status table shows that 280 papers have been submitted to the conference. Clicking this number in the table runs a search to find only those papers, and presents them in a summarised form.
We open the TrackChair search form, and modify the search to find only those papers with an average score above 3.5. This results in a collection of 67 papers, which we then select and add to a paper set.
From the paper set page, one of the several possible actions is "Download paper data". This downloads an Excel spreadsheet to your computer, allowing the data to be modified, sorted, and used however you like in Excel.
