When authors submit a paper, they are forced to describe it with at least three keywords. For example, authors of one paper might choose sensor networks, interference, and MAC.
All TrackChair users are also encouraged to indicate their research interests in the same way. Then, these keywords and interests are matched to help you find suitable people. For example, a TPC member who is interested in sensor networks could be suggested for the above paper.
All keywords and interests are created independently by users. This means less work for the organizer: you don't have to design the perfect list of paper keywords. At the same time, our experience has shown that this method leads to more accurate descriptions of the papers.
Assigning TPC Members
This keyword system makes assigning papers to your TPC amazingly fast. Click on this screenshot to view a video demonstration, or read the description below.
The process begins on the track dashboard, which is the start page for each track chair. Clicking on "Suggest assignments" presents a list of TPC members in the track, each with a number of related papers. This list is created automatically, and weighted to distribute the load among the entire TPC as far as possible.
This makes assigning papers very simple. Just verify that the suggestions are appropriate, and click the button. TrackChair then assigns the papers to the TPC member, and sends emails with instructions. These papers then leave the page, to let you continue immediately. You can assign dozens of papers per minute.
Review Assignment
Finding reviewers is also very simple with TrackChair. Click on this image to view a video demonstration.
There are three ways to assign reviewers. The first is to select a colleague from your list of contacts, which is most appropriate if you know that the paper is in their area. TrackChair will send an email, inviting them to read the paper and respond to your review request.
Alternatively, you can invite someone new to TrackChair, by simply typing their name, affiliation, and email address. This again sends an email invitation, explaining how to use TrackChair to review a paper.
Finally, you can use the keyword system to find appropriate reviewers. TrackChair lists people with matching interests, and assigning a review is as simple as clicking a button.
